- E14 Tag Team Three basic utensils are used by the Top 7 contestants in a mystery-box challenge.
- E15 Pop-Up Restaurant The 6 remaining contestants compete in the series' classic pop-up restaurant challenge.
- E16 Family Drama The 5 remaining contestants are introduced to special culinary guest judge Richard Blais – chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author – who reveals the seventh Mystery Box challenge. The winner will avoid competing in the elimination challenge and the remaining contestants are given five minutes to shop for a basket full of twenty ingredients. With an unexpected twist in the competition, one is eliminated.
- E17 Critics Choice The 4 remaining contestants are given 90 minutes to prepare either a halibut or duck entrée for VIP food critics in the Studio Box challenge. The winning team will be exempt from the elimination challenge and the losing team will face the Pressure Test to recreate three pork dishes.
- E18 The Finale (1) In the next challenge, with help from some familiar home cooks, the remaining 3 will have one hour to prepare an amazing appetizer dish. The contestants will then have one hour to create entrees and one hour to create a dessert. After evaluating the final dishes, the judges will reveal America's next MasterChef, and the deserving home cook will walk away with the trophy, a book deal, and the $250,000 grand prize.
- E19 The Finale (2) The contestants will have one hour to create entrees and an hour to create a dessert. - E1 The Judges Do Battle (1) Judges Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich each will have eight aprons to hand out to the home cooks whom they deem worthy – and they then will mentor those contestants throughout the competition.
- E2 The Judges Do Battle (2) The three judges each choose eight home cooks to mentor throughout the competition.
- E3 The Judges Do Battle (3) Forty-three of America’s finest home cooks compete in the Battle of the Apron challenge, during which they will face off against each other to earn a spot in the Top 24.
- E4 Home State Heroes In the first mystery box challenge of the season, the Top 24 must prep, cook, and plate one dish featuring an ingredient unique to each of their home states.
- E5 Gordon Ramsay Masterclass In the first skills test of the season, MASTERCHEF host/judge/executive producer Gordon Ramsay teaches the home cooks how to properly break down a crab, before the contestants must replicate his work. The contestants whose skills don't cut it, face an elimination challenge during which Ramsay will show them how to make his signature Crab Benedict dish. It is then up to the judges to decide who stays and who goes home.
- E6 Trouble Brewing The Top 20 venture out of the kitchen and head to the historic Anheuser Busch brewery in Los Angeles for their first team challenge of the season. The two teams must cook a beer-infused lunch for more than 100 employees at the brewery who will each place a vote on his or her favorite dish. The team that receives the least amount of votes will head back to the kitchen for a banana cream pie pressure test that will determine who will be eliminated.
- E7 World Cup Dishes The contestants face a mystery box challenge where they must create a dish using one common ingredient—walnuts. The winner will receive three huge advantages. Later, the kitchen welcomes American soccer legend and Fox Sports soccer analyst Alexi Lalas, who will introduce a street food-themed elimination challenge that involves popular food among soccer fans in various countries.
- E8 A Gordon Ramsay Wedding The contestants cook for Season 7 winner Shaun O'Neale's wedding.
- E9 The Big Not Easy The contestants face a mystery box filled with fresh seafood and must create a dish using two items from it. The chefs who fail to impress the judges will face an elimination challenge and be asked to upgrade one of the most popular frozen dinner dishes, Salisbury Steak.
- E10 Rise or Fall The remaining home cooks pair up for a skills test to create a restaurant-quality dish featuring five ingredients—only to leave one contestant without a pair. The contestant cooking solo gets a huge advantage in the challenge and gets the opportunity to cook alongside his-her mentor.The chefs who fail to impress the judges will face an elimination challenge and create the ever-challenging cheese soufflé in just 40 minutes.
- E11 The Kids Are Alright The Top 14 contestants are split into two teams to compete in a fine dining challenge and are to cook 39 dishes for a group of very discerning judges who have big expectations. Contestants are surprised when diners are revealed and forced to scramble and alter their dishes to accommodate the guests. Ultimately the winning team’s recipe will be printed in Family Circle Magazine. The losing team will compete in a cupcake pressure test with special guest and pastry chef Christina Tosi.
- E12 Frying Tonight; Just for the Halibut Part 1 The contestants must make a dish that features a deep-fried element as the judges cook alongside them; the elimination challenge features a citrus-centered dish.
- E13 Just for the Halibut The Top 12 face their third skills test and replicate the proper way to break down a halibut. Those who fail to impress the judges are then tasked with creating a stunning original dish using their broken-down fish. Some contestants yield a bountiful filet, while others offer up a poor portion of protein.
- E14 Sky's the Limit The cooks split into two teams and must serve 100 dishes to airmen in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the March Air Reserve Base.
- E15 Tag Team The contestants learn they will be competing in the Tag Team Challenge.
- E16 American Heroes The remaining home cooks must serve restaurant-quality dishes to 25 California firefighters.
- E17 Waste Not Want Not A mystery box challenge involving food scraps; a mystery box challenge involving fresh ingredients.
- E18 Restaurant Takeover The Top Six face the Restaurant Takeover Challenge at Providence in Los Angeles. The home cooks split into two teams and must feed a dining room filled with 48 guests.
- E19 Cooking With Heart Then, the remaining five receive a heart-warming mystery box challenge in which contestants will create a dish inspired by their loved-one.
- E20 Battle of the Beef The cooks face a series of pressure-filled skills tests using beef; the two weakest contestants go head-to-head.
- E21 The Semi Final The final four split into two teams to cook one entrée for the judges' mentors: chefs Daniel Boulud, Jonathan Waxman and Lidia Bastianich; an elimination leaves three cooks moving on to the finale.
- E22 The Finale (1) The three remaining home cooks must each prepare a three-course menu for the judges.
- E23 The Finale (2) The three remaining home cooks must each prepare a three-course menu for the judges; the home cook with the best overall menu wins the prize and the coveted title of MasterChef.
Season 10
- E1 The Epic 10th Season Auditions - Pt. 1 Thirty-six home cooks arrive with the intent of being placed in the Top 20, but the contestants must pass the audition rounds and impress the judges to earn the coveted apron; the contestants hope to earn a valuable "Judges' Pass."
- E2 Auditions - Pt. 2 / The Battle Round Only eight aprons are left for the hopeful home cooks to earn so they can pass through the audition rounds, where they have less than 45 minutes to prepare their signature dish and leave the judges wanting for more before the Top 20 are chosen.
- E3 Gordon's Mystery Box The Top 20 must quickly demonstrate their culinary expertise before they encounter their first mystery box challenge, where they must create a Ramsay-inspired dish, but only 18 home cooks can progress further in the competition.
- E4 10th Season Pool Party! In two teams of nine cooks, the Top 18 prepare for a 10th anniversary-themed pool party by preparing food for 100 important guests that include former "MasterChef" winners and contestants, but only one team can earn immunity.
- E5 The Blind Chicken Show The team who failed to impress the pool party guests are given only 45 minutes to completely break down a chicken and prepare it into a delectable dish, but one contestant will be forced to surrender their apron after the timer runs out.
- E6 Hot & Spicy Model Alessandra Ambrosio offers input for the Top 17's next mystery box challenge, which includes an additional twist that throws some cooks off balance, but only 15 home cooks can be chosen to continue on to the next round.
- E7 Gordon Takes on a Tarte The remaining home cooks face another elimination challenge in which they have 60 minutes to closely replicate the dish du jour, tarte Tatin that must be prepared with silky crème anglaise sauce, or risk surrendering their apron and going home.
- E8 Joe Takes a Risk The top 16 cooks fight for immunity in a challenge to create an authentic three-course Italian meal.
- E9 Tag Team Tears & Tantrums With two eliminations on the line, the pressure is on for the losing team in the tag-team challenge.
- E10 Gerron's Wedding The home cooks split into two teams to prepare 45 meals for Gerron Hurt's wedding.
- E11 Backyard BBQ The cooks have 60 minutes to present their best beef dish to the judges.
- E12 King of The Crabs The top 13 must break down Alaskan king crabs; the contestants cook for chef Masaharu Morimoto.
- E13 Someone's Toast Contestants must create a sweet dish and a savory dish from a surprise ingredient; an elimination.

- E16 NASCAR Finish Line Feed The top 10 contestants test their speed in a special team challenge at the Irwindale Speedway, where they have 75 minutes to cook for 101 race car crew members.
- E17 Box in a Box in a Box The contestants face a mystery box challenge with more mystery ingredients than ever before.
- E18 Mind Blowing Food The cooks are introduced to Grant Achatz, who shows the them the art of unconventional plating.
- E19 Pigging Out The cooks produce a dish with their own version of homemade sausage in less than an hour.
- E20 One Pan Wonder TV host Daphne Oz reveals the contents of the week's mystery box challenge to the top eight, leaving the contestants 60 minutes to create an elevated one-pan dish using the cast iron pan.
- E21 Family Reunion Loved ones of the top seven watch the contestants make their favorite family-inspired dishes.
- E22 London Calling (1) The top six chefs travel to London and must feed 36 diners; two chefs face elimination.
- E23 London Calling (2) The top four chefs travel to the historic Hatfield House, where they must cook a venison dish.
- E24 The Finale (1) Returning from their home towns after a whirlwind trip across the pond, the Top Three home cooks are ready to tackle their final dishes in hopes of crossing the finish line and coming out on top!
- E25 The Finale (2) The finalists must execute a superior three-course meal for the judges. Only one will win the title of MASTERCHEF, an opportunity to learn hands-on in each of the judges’ restaurants and the $250,000 grand prize.

More than 100 cowboys and cowgirls in Horse Town, U.S.A., gather for the MasterChef rodeo, where the Top 14 chefs divide into two teams to create the best steak and sides. The team that doesn't live up to the cowboys' standards faces the possibility of elimination.
- E11 Winners Mystery Box - Christine Ha The remaining chefs are challenged with a "Winner's Mystery Box," curated by the Season 3 Champion, Christine Ha. The contestants are tasked with creating a Michelin-starred Vietnamese dish, but there's a catch - they must use every ingredient given to them.
- E12 Tag Team The Top 12 chefs are challenged to a tag-team cook-off, as they approach the halfway point in the competition. They're tasked with choosing a partner and cooking three menu items from Gordon Ramsay's Michelin-starred restaurants, taking turns against the clock.
- E13 GrubHub Challenge In order to secure a spot in the Top 10, the remaining chefs partner with GrubHub to elevate a traditional take-out dish into a gourmet concoction.
- E14 Gas Station Gourmet Keeping up with culinary trends and tapping into nostalgia, Chef Ramsay brings a new challenge to the kitchen. The Top 10 chefs are tasked with elevating traditional gas station and road trip snacks into gourmet dishes.
- E15 Winners Mystery Box - Gerron Hurt The Top Nine chefs are faced with another Winner's Mystery Box challenge, this time from MasterChef Season Nine winner Gerron Hurt. With no more immunity pins up for grabs, each contestant must create a dish that packs heat using an assortment of chilies and peppers.
- E16 The Wall The top eight chefs are paired together and must communicate on opposite sides of a wall to create identical dishes.
- E17 Restaurant Takeover - Spago The chefs must take over Wolfgang Puck's kitchen at Spago restaurant in Los Angeles.
- E18 Semi Finals The top five chefs are faced with tow separate elimination challenges in the semifinals: a baked Alaska and an intricate lobster tortellini.
- E19 Finale - Special Guest Graham Elliot (1) The chefs who advance to the finals prepare an appetizer and entree with the support of Graham Elliot.
- E20 Finale - Special Guest Christina Tosi (2) The three remaining chefs rush against the clock to complete their final entree and whip up a gourmet dessert with the help of former judge Christina Tossi; a new champion is crowned.
